Our 2 weeks mini collection - Dreams do come true :)

We had a bit of trouble finding fluidity in the last two collections but we eventually produced something we were comfortable showcasing.  Being committed to producing a mini collection every week has proven quite difficult - but it has been so fulfilling.  Enjoy.  The following are the result of 2 week's worth of designing and creating.

Our Crotchet top and velvet legging.

Lilac dress with fringe detailings

Lingerie lace inspired dress

Draped Satin top with our flowing chiffon harem trouser

Our signature hand smocked jersey dress

Brigh and sunny pink chiffon with cut out details

Our hand beaded with feathers and mirror embellishments top and tiered skirt

Have a great week our Instagram, facebook, snapchat, pinterest, tumblr, twitter and youtube lovers!

Thank you for all your support.  Feel free to email us with any questions and/or pieces you would like.  Stay tuned for more..

The triad collection: the beginning, middle and the end.

Necessity is the mother of invention.  This was a pretty difficult week to come up with something different compared to last weeks emotionally filled collection.  I made some pieces that didn't make the cut because it looked too similar to what came before, plus there were problems with the fabric and the fit.  Aside from this minor setback, we managed to put together an elegantly powerful and brave new collection.

With difficulty comes inventiveness and ingenuity, and with the editing eye of both my brother and Colin, our  pieces will only get stronger.  Its ok if some pieces don't work, its how you pick yourself up that matters.  In the past I got discouraged too easily and stopped creating all together.  Whether its good or bad, you just have to keep going and persevere.   I've learned to apply this in all aspects of my life, and this triad collection reminded me that change is constant in life.  Embrace all that life has to offer, from the very beginning, the middle and the very end.  Enjoy our Paswera Lovers xoxo

This piece started the collection last week.  I wanted to do something different and play with textures and different fabrics.  It was a polarizing piece that took us a while to fall in love with, but what I loved about it, was that it had an elegant sporty bohemian edge to it. Aesthetically I always strive to combine elegance with a sporty and bohemian rock edge.
When I start to veer away from this, both my brother and Colin play a major part in editing and styling the pieces.  For the piece below it all worked.  The combination of the jersey and see through checkered fabric and white fringe all worked beautifully.  You will definitely feel powerful, elegant and fierce when you wear this piece!

Our middle piece, was a clash of the white stripes.  This wide leg palazzo pants was one of my favourite.  The vertical and horizontal pinstriped fabric creates a mohemian (modern bohemian) piece.  Paired up with our classic sporty top, you're ready to stand out and go with the flow.

In the end, you want to live your life like a sequined fabric.  You want to sparkle and shine.  Live a life thats full, exciting and never boring.  This sensual classic sequined blazer  will be my go to piece to add some glamour.  Be crazy, sexy, cool, our 90's supermodel lovers.

Until  next week, reinvent yourselves, and change.   Try and make this journey exciting. Live, Love and Laugh xoxox

Many thanks to all our Paswera Lovers.  Help spread the love and join us on the many fun social media sites that we're a part of ! (Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest,  Facebook, Youtube,  and Snapchat)

A New life : The Four Colors of the Apocalypse

Every end is a new beginning.   Grief and love are conjoined, you don't get one without the other.  That's the beauty of life.  Our lives are a collection of new and old fragmented memories. We co-exist with our new and old selves.  A collection of a new life amidst the four colors of the apocalypse.

For each collection we grow stronger as a team. From the clothes, styling, art direction and photos.  We embrace change as we transition into our new selves, and experience and create more memories. Enjoy our Paswera lovers!

We fell in love with the fur texture of this fabric while the pale nude color adds to its sensuality.  This fur crop top with crotchet details is the perfect piece for our sacred spiritual selves.  But be cautious when you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.

Our sweet and flirty pink polka dot dress brings out our optimistic but fragile side.  Care-free and fun loving, as you twirl in a strange new world.  Dressed in pink makes the boys wink :)

Feel blue in our fluid draped jersey with a sweet touch of rosy pink hair.  Wear it and feel like a siren that sings her last song.   The end of that beautiful strange song brings new life in your divine nature.

We are all spiritual beings created to be a vessel covered and draped in both light and darkness.  This was a dress that symbolizes the divine female spirit.  For it is her who gives birth to us - so too will she destroy us.

Our sensual and ethereal nature is a part of our spirituality. For every end has a new beginning, we transcend and rise from this earthly existence to be amongst the heavenly creatures.

Be well and and at peace our Paswera lovers xoxo Live, Love, and be beautiful from the inside out.

xoxo

The remnants of our new 4 piece collection

Sometimes when we feel lost or unsure about the future, we begin to doubt the decisions we have made  and our reasons for being.  It's perfectly natural to feel this way and it's OK.  Our journey is made up of fragmented life pieces that slowly begins to come together like a puzzle.

The old saying of "losing yourself in order to find yourself" speaks volume to us.  We've never felt so free in losing ourselves in doing what we  love.  This lead me to start thinking of piecing together fabric remnants that I have held onto from different stages of my life to create and design our mini collection for this week.

This leather patched sweater jacket with contrasting knit sleeves we're all fabric remnants that I have saved over the years.  It came out really comfortably on both Colin and myself. Soft and cozy. Keeping it simple and unisex. Be a boy , be a girl, be neither, just be :) xoxo

Our down to earth disco bohemian cardigan, with brown luxe pailete sequins and knitted leather patch were all remnants of our artistic dreams.  It's so dreamy and looked beautiful on both Colin and I.  It may not be for everyone but just like any art piece some people get it and some people don't.  Art is subjective and we're all for individual expressions and respecting those who are artistically different from you. No one piece of art or personal style is better than any other.  We paired it up with our draped jersey wide legged romper like a Coachella gypsy ready to dream.

Looking  at my other fabric stash I found an embroidered black lace fabric and I paired it with our faux leather fabric. We also want to create another leather version for those who love to wear genuine leather. We want to lace you up with our love.  This was paired up with our python fringe knit jersey dress. Python and lace that's found running wild out in the Amazonian jungalll

This vest made us smile especially with our pink leatherade and vinyl fabric combination. Complete the look with a couple of banana head piece and a pineapple to bite on. We paired it up with our black mini taffeta billowy skirt.

This whole look was about having fun and making faces at ourselves.  There's a time to be smart, sexy,  and classic like from our previous shoot. Today we wanted to showcase our sense of humour. Have fun, laugh and explore your inner Barbie chiquitita couture and don't be afraid to have fun and be the color in someone else's pineapple filled lives.

Overall our mini collection started off on a rocky slow start due to having a cold.  We pulled it off still.  Kudos again to my brother and Colin for piecing together another fun artistic shoot.

For all of our new and current Paswera lovers,  who would love to rock our pieces we will be accepting orders as most of you beautiful guys and dolls have been asking.  Thanks for being patient.

We also want to say a big big thank you to all of our instagram lovers.  Before we started this year we had just 50 beautiful Paswera lovers and now we're at about 1.3k beautiful Paswera lovers and counting.  You all continue to inspire us to design and dance our hearts out.

Regardless of how many people we reach, we will continue to design and love like we've never been hurt before.

Until next week,  Live,  Love,  and dance to your own beats.  Paswera Label loves you!

Here's our video montage , have fun and enjoy

The Five U collection: Unisex Unitard Urban Unapolegitic Unicorn collection... U know xoxo

This week we challenged ourselves to dance out of our comfort zone and push our design capabilities.  We wanted to further explore items that can be worn by both genders or gender non-conformists.  Our brand DNA (dancing non-conformist angels) will always be for those free spirited people who "take the good, and take the bad, take them both, and there you have the facts of life, the facts of life" :)

Technically, this weeks designs were a lot more challenging.  However, creating 3 intricate spring jackets to add to our mini-collection was a very fulfilling and learning experience.  Previously, I had only attempted designing and creating jackets way back in my university years.  I wanted to grow as a designer, so this is my second attempt at it. :)  I had fun, and spent many a sleepless stressful nights, but in the end it was worth it!  These jackets looked really good on myself and Colin, and I'm sure it will look amazing for all of our Paswera lovers.   Enjoy!

Our first design, was our take on a modern Uni-sex/corn crop sportswear jacket.  It is a combination of clear vinyl plastic with a black and white striped fabric.  We needed something to wear , both Colin and I , and perhaps my brother, when we go to the gym or prepare for our first fashion marathon.  We paired it with a simple black legging and heels, but it's a pretty versatile piece to wear with almost anything or nothing, if you like lol.

This second outfit, we had created our second Uni-sex/corn spring jacket paired with our nude crop top and matching skirt.  This black and white houndstooth fabric spoke to me and it wanted to be made into a jacket.  I couldn't say no so I decided to pair it with our black sequined fabric.  This piece is also pretty flexible, wear it dressy like how we've styled with our nude barely there crop top and skirt, or as we've styled it on Colin below.  His and Hers, His and His, Hers and Hers spring jacket, wear it and have fun.

Who run the world ?? girls.... Who are we? ..This powerful creature, sensual and sexy, bohemian and modern , naked but covered in a hand crotchet moulded body suit was a dream collaboration with my talented friend Maureen, or as we call her Momo.  She does amazing hand crotchet pieces, and we will for sure work together.  Stitch and bitch all night long. We paired it with our third spring jacket: a crop leather jacket with contrasting lapels.  This jacket was the hardest of them all to create.  I had only worked with leather once, and that was a simple vest.  Leather is a very transformative fabric to work with, but it's inspired me to work with other fabrics that I want to start mixing with.  Next up more vinyl? perhaps latex ? It would be a dream come true if there exists a crotchet latex fabric, going to do more research on it.  But for now, be BOLD and BITCHEEE only if needed, in our Unitard Unicorn body suit.

We can't just have one body suit this week.  This fabric magically appeared thanks to Colin who found a stash of my unused fabric. Naturally, I wanted to slither into a snake printed piece.  Slick your hair back and take a stance on what you love.

Be a boy and wear our Unisex houndstooth sequined jacket for spring.  Colin is model-ready to go to NYC with my brother in this outfit.  The way my brother styled it gave this jacket a polished sporty vibe.  It's one of our favourite piece. We will do more pieces like this in our upcoming mini collection.

Another one of our Unisex crop leather jacket was styled up nicely with a pop of color and leather shorts, just because we love it. Colin's looking fashionably tough as he channels his boy next door outfit.  We're ready for you.

Our last Unisex spring jacket is our see through vinyl mixed with black and white strip fabric.  My brother styled it really nicely and gave this piece an alter ego via Colin's je ne sais quoi.  Again, we're excited how this jacket turned out and it can be styled in so many different ways.

Another successful mini-collection for this week.  The Paswera label holy trinity team -my brother William, Colin and myself did it again!

We're excited to bring more pieces together.  To all of our Paswera Lovers who would love to rock these outfits, wait no longer, we're working patiently on our online shopping website very soon.  Thank you for following our creative journey, and hope you're all making your dreams come true, one outfit at a time

Until next week xoxo - Live , Love and Dance- Paswera Label loves you!

4 Piece Balletic Surf Beat collection

What does the world of ballet, surfing and hip hop have in common? A state of "flow". I'm always drawn to the dualities that exists both in nature and our past, and present culture and sub-cultures.  As I was designing this mini collection I started reading an article written by psychologist Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi.  He coined the term of being in a state of "flow".   In short what he meant by this was was that when we enter this state of mind we are completely engaged in a present moment, enjoying that action and letting all other stressors stay in the back of your mind.

This state can be achieved by countless activities: designing, playing chess, writing music, surfing, dancing, painting, and the list goes on. The main point is that the motivation to do these activities must come from within yourself.  But in order to enter this mental state of flow there are several components that must be met:
- The activity must have clear goals and objectives.
-The task must have clear and immediate feedback.
-One must have a good balance between the perceived challenges of the task and their perceived skills. A task too difficult may cause frustration.

I think that's why our 4-piece collection each week have been pretty successful, in the midst of a chaotic and unpredictable world we live in.   We've been subconsciously channeling a state of  "flow".

Each sunday, my brother, Colin and I have fun , laugh, argue, deal with technical difficulties in getting the right hair for each outfits ,  but we suddenly create magical moments captured on pictures and videos.  We have a clear goal and objectives for the week and that is to capture the essence of each and everyones natural abilities.  My brother's eye for editing and directing (even with pink eye this week :( lol), Colin's abilities to turn a photo and create a piece of art and capture a moment, and my love for designing and the creative process.  Enjoy this weeks mini collection our Paswera Lovers. xoxox

This prima-ballerina ivory chiffon dress melts our hearts.  It's our romantic and softer side.  A dress that flows and drapes with your emotions.  Her gentle demeanor shows her compassion for others.  She dances away all her fears and insecurites to clear her mind and stay focus.  Go on and take a twirl ,even when people stare and laugh, just be you and don't be afraid to stand tall and speak your mind.

This was another of our draped soft dress with an asymmetrical neckline, mixed with a checkered and floral pattern.  For days when all you want to do is just walk and be at peace.  Keep it simple and chic.

Our red patterned two piece crop hooded sweater with a matching pencil skirt came together as I was listening to an indie female rapper Santigold.  Check her out for those that haven't heard of her yet.  Its a bit tribal / hip hop / dance mix.  Love it.  I plan on wearing this when I start rapping :) xoxo

This fabric was courtesy of Colin and his great vintage find :) Thank you , thank you!
It inspired me to channel my inner surfer girl.  I've always loved being near a body of water and watching a beautiful tidal wave of water.  This also brings me back to my days where I was fortunate enough to visit LA and walk around Venice beach.

This outfit is colorful and flirty with just the right amount of sex appeal :P  It's a two piece patterned matching ensemble.  The brallette crop top can be worn on the beach or dressed up with a matching soft pink leather mini skirt and side patterned fabric and killer heels.  OR you can just wear it and pose as sexy or artistic like how we styled the shoot.  Be fun and fearless and wave your hair around like you just don't care.

P.S.  *** REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CHASE YOUR DREAMS... IN HIGH HEELS OF COURSE XOX muah **

4 piece collection avec mama

This past weekend was International Women's day and it serves as a reminder of the importance of being equal.  No matter what gender, time will come when this day will be every day.  In honour of this special day we had created a dress  for our mom.  She is our heart, our strength, our biggest supporter and inspiration!  We love her sense of humour, her kindness, her selflessness and for loving us both unconditionally through good days and bad days :)  This was another great collaboration with my supermodel mom, my brother William, and our stylist/photographer Colin.

Our mom loves to dance, and she's always full of life.  We wanted to keep things light and airy, with this classic halter dress with fringe details at the bottom to reflect our mom's upbeat personality.  She's always full of smile and can make us laugh no matter what.  She's beautiful inside and out.
Here's our min video montage of our collection

With the daylight savings time change there's more bright and sunny spring days to come.  We're ready for spring in this two toned colourful jersey dress with  abstract patterns.  Now all we need is a portable wind machine to make our hair flow like Beyonce :)

As I'm writing this, I'm listening to some good sexy disco tunes from the disco queen herself, Donna Summer.  I love to love you baby.... xox in this hot pink soft leather dress. This is for our girls who are fiercely independent, who owns their sexuality but still holds onto her sweet innocent nature.  Think Pink, it does the body good!

Our last dress all came together as I was listening to Diana Ross, Debbie Harry of Blondie and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac.  They were all 70's style icons, all three were different and diverse.  What they all had in common were great music and amazing style.
We don't limit ourselves to any one type of music.  I always say to our friends that musically we are (1/4 dance/disco/pop) + (1/4 jazz/r&b/hiphop)  + (1/4 folk/singer-songwriter)  + (1/4 symphony/classical).  We love all types of music.

This nude dress with fringe details was our homage to modern 1970's glamour.  Part fringy gypsy Stevie Nicks ,  with a sexy diva attitude of Diana, and a heart of glass just like Debbie Harry's Blondie.

Again, thanks to all of our Paswera lovers who are following our journey as we humbly continue to be creative, and live life through its many ups and downs.  We carry this poem that my mom has written and we would like to share it with you all:

You

You are the person that has to decide
Whether you do it or toss it aside
You are the person who makes up your mind
Whether you lead or will linger behind

Nobody here will compel you to rise
No one will force you to open your eyes
No one will answer for you yes or no
Whether to stay or whether to go

What do you wish?
To be known as a shirk,
Known as a good person who is willing to work
Scorned for a loafer  or praised by your chief
Rich man or poor man, beggar or thief

All of these are questions that  you must decide
Or just be content to stay where you hide
Take it or leave it there's always something to do
Just think it over it's all up to you

4 Piece Collection

Our recent photo shoot with our new Paswera label designs with our resident model/muse/stylist/photographer/artist and part time intergalactic unicorn, my brother's boyfriend Colin :).  Also, otherwise known as Colinskaya, as I like to call him xoxo

The main inspiration behind each garment and photo was  the 1960's surf rock mixed with the sexiness and classiness of Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn, both equally sensual in different ways.  We love them both.  In addition, Colin, our new model/muse 1960's beach boy,  is giving us a bit of John Lennon meets 1960's Kurt Cobain (if he were alive in that era) who then accidentally bumped into David Bowie during his early teenage years.

We laughed and danced throughout this shoot, and the mood was lighter and playful. I mean come on, Spring is after all a hopeful season!  It brings transformation and change; from darkness to light, from cold to warmth, from grey skies to rainbows, and from  mermaids to unicorn :)  New life, and a fresh new beginning.

Have a look below for more details and enjoy! You can also watch a video montage below if you want dance like no one's watching.

Colin is wearing our printed knit sweater with hand knotted fringe details at the bottom. This can be worn by either of the sexes or non-gendered individuals.  It's also perfect to wear when you want to sashay away as your fringe swings like chandeliers courtesy of Sia and her lovely blonde wig.. LOVE her too

Excusez moi mon cherrie.  Je m'appelle Eleganza extravaganza. :)  Here, I am channeling my inner 1960's girl who just finished eating her last piece of French macaroons.  Hmm... where can I get more of that delicious sweet treat.  While I eat my macaroons I decided to wear our beaded draped top.  It's playful, sweet and care free, and almost smells as good as those macaroons :)  Enjoy and have a bite or let someone else have a bite , right??

Now sit down and look into my eyes. What do you see ? Do you see roses and butterflies? Is it white and gold or blue and black :P .  I wanted to channel that pure sexuality that Brigitte Bardot naturally has.  This halter knit jersey dress with chiffon strip details will make you like a french temptress.  Go out and be a social butterfly missy.

This next shoot came naturally for me. I love this dress and this pose.  All of our dresses have special meanings but this one all came together perfectly.  I had bought this knit fabric with vertical ruffle details over a year ago, and I did not know what to make of it.  It all came together when my brother suggested to make it into a dress :) then our shared vision for this dress took over as I was listening to Audrey Hepburn's song "Moon river". When I added the black fringe it completed the whole look.  From there, I couldn't help but channel my inner Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffanys : "a country girl turned New York café society girl"

Her philosophy about life and her story is what influenced me the most.  Her humbleness and sense of humour (my friends and family knows that I LOOOOVE  to have a good laugh).  She's my kindred spirit.  She's strong yet fragile, with a heart so pure and lovely it surpasses her outer beauty.  And we were both born on May 4  but in different years and era. RIP my beautiful Audrey.

"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone." - Audrey Hepburn

My top 5 memories of London, England

This post definitely brings back lots of fond memories of London, England.  I had never documented or have written about my experiences in a city that exudes both class and anarchy. For the most part, I took my trips for granted (in a later post I will explain why) but I'm forever grateful for this experience.

London is a leading global city with strengths in the arts, entertainment, fashion, media, tourism and transport, just to name a few.  The British accent alone conveys such regalness and poise no matter where you go.  London has a lot to offer: from the edgy and lively atmosphere of the East end of London, to the more mainstream and popular tourist destination of Oxford Street.  Here are my top 5 personal memories of London.

1.  Camden Market

I've always been a vintage type of girl growing up in Winnipeg, so when I first visited Camden Market it felt somewhat like home.  It was full of great vintage finds, and has a very down to earth nature.  I love the fact that you don't necessarily have to be all dolled up to walk around this part of London.  You can be as bohemian or old-school pin-up style vintage as you'd like.  This part of London has always been dear to me because it is the neighbourhood where one of my favourite artists used to live, Amy Winehouse, may she RIP xoxo
When I think of Amy's songs , i think of Camden Market, where i go "back to black", my favourite song of hers :)

2. Piccadily Square

This is also another type of place full of free spirited people.  On saturdays it's packed and when I went, there were live bands playing on the streets, fresh fish and chips being served :) mmmm and alot of cute little trinkets and souvenirs to buy.  This was also one of the homes of my favourite store All Saints.  There is always some street events happening in this part of London.  Just be ready to listen to some reggae london type of music all day long. Love it .

3. Carnaby Street

Oh Carnaby, I wish I had lived in the 60's because I would be swinging into my short mini skirt and go-go boots galore.  After all, this was the birthplace of the fashion and cultural revolution during the 1960's.  When I went, it was part of a work trip where we look at trends in all the different stores.  I wish I took a picture of me under the iconic Carnaby arch, but back then I was camera shy (which i'll explain in a later post).  But instead I found this picture from my old phone.  Here, you'll find an eclectic mix of stores as well as independent boutiques, heritage brands, new designer names, plus, you'll have a lot of options when it comes to restaurants, bars, cafes, and great English pubs.  I'm not a beer or  a pub type of girl, but I did enjoy some fish and chips :)

4. Oxford Street

At first when I heard about Oxford street, I thought about the Oxford dress shirt lol.  (sorry just went off on a tangent there).   The hotel that I stayed at was pretty close to this street, so it was a joy having to sleep in a bit due to jet lag, and start my day off a bit later.  FYI, I found myself jet lagged on this day and trend shopping for me was pretty exhausting, considering how many people shop here, OMG. Even if I was wide awake, I would have been stressed out with so many visual cues around me.   But other than that, Oxford street is the heart of London shopping.  It is the home to the legendary Selfridges, and other well known stores.   Don't be surprised if you make a wrong turn to a side street thinking you've seen it before because all the streets here looked the same lol .  I still had fun and managed to take some decent pictures.

5. Victoria Palace theatre

I was blessed to have had such a wonderful boss when I travelled to London.  As part of her thank you to me for a long work trip, she had surprised me with a pair of tickets to see Billy Elliot the musical with her this night.  I was dancing like a little girl, and i was extremely excited.  I had watched the movie Billy Elliot and had fallen in love with it :)  The movie's message was all about the love and support of family, and that no matter how different you are, you can dance your way to success and happiness :)  I strongly recommend watching this show or movie if you get the chance,  I promise you that it will change your life forever.  The play itself was amazing.  The costumes, singing, dancing to the acting were all memorable . I love love it xoxox

I'm not sure when I will get to experience London again.  But i do hope that if and when I do, this time around I would want to share it with family and friends.  Now if only our Canadian dollar can match the pound it would be so much better :)

Thanks to all of our Paswera lovers out there that's reading this blog.  I'm not sure who's reading these posts but if you are, I hope I had made you smile and laugh, and convince you to go to London.  P.S.  For those who'd like to see a some fun videos just go onto our Paswera label youtube page below:
